Hawk's Nest Facilities

It has been awhile back that I shared a few pictures around Hawks Nest, West Virginia.  Everyone was fascinated with the castle style facilities and wanted to see more pictures of it.  Above is what it looks like from the road.

This is the walkway to get to the facilities.  The men will go to the left and the ladies to the right.

This is a picture of how to get to the men's facility.

This is the path to the ladies facility.

Moss growing on the roof of the castle style facilities at Hawks Nest State Park, West Virginia.

The ladies facilities are on the second floor and men's facilities are on the bottom floor.

Another view of the ladies entrance.  I rather like the moss growing on the roof.

Here's the door to go to the ladies facility.

This is what it looks like inside the ladies facility.  There are only 2 thrones.

This is the window that is inside.  You can't see inside or outside from this window.

Hawk's Nest ~ Videos

I had a few questions in my comments about Hawk's Nest so I thought I would try to find a video or two to share more about this area. You can go HERE to see a video of the lookout that I shared a few pictures of and there is another good one HERE.

I found another great video to show you where a man on a motorcycle put a camera on his bike and drove down the road showing you just how curvy the road is! Motorcycles absolutely love this road. In the Spring it is nothing to see large convoys of motorcycles riding through here. You can go HERE to see the video.

And just a few other videos can be found HERE and HERE.

Hawk's Nest ~ More Pictures

I thought I'd share a few more pictures I took on our road trip through Hawk's Nest. The first picture looks like a small castle but it's not! Would you believe me if I told you it is a restroom? It is! The top floor is the ladies room and the bottom floor is the mens room.

Here's a closer look of it.

The next picture you'll just have to either turn your head to the side or turn your laptop to the side. I think Blogger is having problems again because no matter how many times I've uploaded the pictures to do this post I keep having a few picture to upload wrong. I have them saved the right way but they are uploading wrong. Go figure!

This is a closer up view of the bridge at the bottom of the hill.

Look to the side again and you will see what it looks like on the other side of the lookout.

I hope everyone is having a great week! I am preparing for an Arctic Blast that is due to arrive here late Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

Hawk's Nest

Friday we decided to take a little road trip. We made many stops at the different places that we just love to visit throughout the year. Today I'm going to share a few pictures that I took at Hawk's Nest State Park in West Virginia. I just love it there. I think it is beautiful all year round.

Here is a view of what it looks like from the top of the stairs looking down. I don't think I've ever been there when there hasn't been other people there so I thought I'd take a picture of what it looks like from there.

I love this picture! I love the iron fence that is welded into the stone all around the lookout. Peeking through to see the old iron bridge that is used by trains. We didn't see any trains passing through this trip but I have taken pictures in the past when there was a train going through the bridge. We had a wonderful time just spending time with each other and enjoying what God and man has made. I'll share some more pictures from this area later.

Hawks Nest Water Fall

This weekend we took a drive up to Hawks Nest to see the Water Fall. We have been wanting to see the falls all frozen over for quite some time and finally was able to do that this year! We didn't get out and play in the water like we do in the Summer, it was just way to cold and we wouldn't want the children to fall in! Enjoy!
