University of Kentucky Hospital

While my father in law was in the hospital at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky I took a few pictures that I thought I would share. This hospital wasn't just a hospital. It was a museum!
Hand carved and hand painted walking sticks.

I tried to get pictures of the tops of the ones that I really liked.

There was even some wooden hand carved and hand painted skunks! My Little Man is posing in this picture with them. I told him to pretend they were spraying him! lol

There was also 2 of these big displays of pictures from all around Kentucky that were displayed on a lot of tv's. Some would change and then show some moving pictures. It was very interesting.

More hand carved art work! It was carved out and put together like a big puzzle.

And of course you know you are in Kentucky when you see bronze statutes of a girl with her horse!

University Inn

I want to give a big thank you to the University Inn in Lexington, Kentucky! They were such a blessing to our family in our time of need. The University Inn has a special deal for the loved ones of patients staying at the University of Kentucky Hospital that are in the ICU. They actually keep a few rooms open just for people like us. The weekend we were staying there was the weekend of a big University of Kentucky Football game and they were charging around $210 a night to stay there. The special rate that we were given was only $20 a night.
I got the pictures from their website. This is a picture they have of the room that we stayed in. Let me tell you those beds are very comfortable! Complete with down comforters. The room was extremely clean. Not like other hotels I've stayed in before! I was very impressed with the area and would like to go back at a later day for a weekend mini vacation of sorts and I will stay at the University Inn and be happy to pay their going rate at that time.

Thank you University Inn! We really appreciate the love and kindness that you showed us in our time of need. May the Lord continue to bless your business for many years to come!
