My Little Man is now 12 years old. I think that given his age and all I probably should start calling him my Young Man. Here he is driving Jazz and me around in our hay field. Jazz loves going for a ride. She thinks she is special when she gets to go for a ride!

My Country Boy!
My favorite pictures I've taken recently of my Little Man. It was spirit week at school. The kids could dress up as either country or city. He picked country. So far he is really enjoying Middle School.

Hay, Hay, Hay!
It's hay time! And with hay time comes pictures on the hay! This year our hay man was a little later than the other hay farmers around here as usual, but he finally got the job done. My Little Man couldn't wait for the hay man to finish up rolling all of the hay so he could get out there and sit, stand, try to roll, and get pictures on the hay. I've been taking pictures of the kids on the hay since they were very little. My Young Lady was out with her Young Prince on a date so she missed out on getting her picture taken with the hay for the first cutting that is. The weeds will grow again and the hay man will cut it again in a few months. If he was faster about coming and cutting it he might would get 3 cuttings out of it like the rest of the hay farmers around us do. Oh well, his loss not mine.
My girl Two wanted to have her picture taken too! Usually she will take a big run and leap right up on top of the hay all by herself. Last year she wasn't able to do it so I picked her up and put her on it and took pictures of her. This year Two decided she would just let me take pictures of her sitting around the hay because she's seen me take pictures of the kids at different places around the hay so that's what she did. She started out in the back corner of the hay and was strike a pose for me.
She would even smile! I just snapped away!
She then moved to the middle of the hay a little closer to the front so I could get some more pictures of her.
Just look at her! She's so beautiful! Two is a 13 year old West Virginia Brown Dog!
I would have tried to pick her up and put her on the hay, but I was afraid that she would jump off and injury herself before I could get to her while I would be taking pictures of her. My Young Lady and her Young Prince will have to wait for the next cutting to get their pictures made with the hay as the hay man came and got it the next day.

Hay
Usually when the man who cuts our hay field bales the hay he bales it into the big round bales. The kids have so much fun climbing on them. We always take pictures of the kids on the hay and the dogs too! Sorry for the poor quality pictures I've got to share in this post. I couldn't help it. The weather was just that yucky!
My Young Lady helping my Little Man up on the hay.
Jazz and my Little Man cheesing it up on the hay!
Last week our hay man surprised us by bailing the hay in the square bales instead of the large round bales. I came home to find the field full of these little beauties.
I couldn't wait for the kids to see them.
I had to take pictures! Sigh.... The square bales just aren't as fun as the big round bales! lol The dogs were in the garage so I didn't get to take any pictures of them with the hay. I was going to take more pictures after dinner but the hay man came and got it before I could!

My Little Man took this last picture.

Hey, Hay Man!
Hey, Hay Man! You forgot to get the hay out of the fields after you baled it back in June. The grass is now over top of the hay you left in the field. However will you find it if it gets any taller?
This isn't our hay field but one of my neighbors hay fields. We have the same Hay Man. Ours was still in the field too! A few days after I took this picture the Hay Man actually came and moved all of the hay. I'm not sure where he put it but it is now gone.

Hay ~ Get R Done Friday
Today is Get R Done Friday! Please visit ClassyChassy at Expressly Corgi to see all of the others who are participating in this weekly event! It is Hay season here in West Virginia. We live on a farm and we have a hay field that we let one of our neighbors cut for the hay for his cows. He was a little late about getting this first cutting in but he finally Got R Done!!! lol So I thought I would show you a few pictures of what our hay field looked like when he was cutting our hay. ~ I wasn't home when he was doing most of this work so I missed out on a few good pictures. I just happened to catch him in a few pictures when I got home one day from being out.
This is what it looked like after he cut the grass in the field.
After they cut the grass, they will let it sit for a day or two to let it dry out more and then they will come back with another attachment on their tractor and rake the hay into these rows like seen in the picture above. ~ I missed it when he raked it and put it in the rows because I wasn't home.
After the hay is in the rows, he will come back with the baler. The baler is the red attachment in the picture above. This particular baler will make the hay into those big round bales of hay.
The next few pictures I took are going to show you how those big round bales of hay come out of the baler.
Right here you can see that the hay is just starting to roll out of the baler.
And now you can see that the hay is out of the baler.
They hay actually will roll out of the baler. He didn't move his tractor at all during the whole process.
Here are a few of the large round bales of hay that he was able to get from the first cutting of our hay field. In all he was able to get 9 round bales. Not bad!
I couldn't resist taking a picture of this round bale of hay as it has some trash that someone threw over the side of the road in it.
A closer view of the beer can in the hay.
And for the final picture. You can see all of that beautiful hay in our field. I just love it when they get the hay cut and rolled. We get so excited at watching the process.
When I was a little girl my dad used to help one of our neighbors put up his hay and I always loved to go to watch back then. I would get to ride in the air conditioned truck with Mr. Anderson while my dad and a few other men would gather up the square bales of hay and put them into the back of his truck. I remember Mr. Anderson would pay for $1 for my help! lol
Now, be sure to visit Expressly Corgi!
