Veterans in the Family

Joseph F. McClanahan was born on January 16, 1928 and died on January 10, 2000. He was a SPC US Navy. He was in World War II, Korea and the Vietnam wars. The picture below was taken in 1967, and he is talking with Billy Graham himself! He really liked Billy Graham so much that he named his son Billy.

Christmas Cards for Soldiers

Have you thought about your Christmas cards this year? Who you are going to send them to? When doing your Christmas cards this year why not think of the wonderful Soldiers who have sacrificed so much for you and for me.
Let's all try to remember our Soldiers this year and send a Christmas card to:

West Virginia Veterans Home

I just happened to be in the area of the West Virginia Veterans Home in Barboursville, so I thought why not drive by the Veterans Home to take a few pictures of those Gorgeous Flags waving on the road up to the parking area. I couldn't help but to feel a since of great pride as I drove slowly up the hill. I had my Little Man with me and he too was excited about all of those waving flags. Then he seen the tank and asked me what it was. My first thought was I really hope and pray that he never has to see one in action. My second thought was I have really sheltered him from things like that that he doesn't know what it is. I told him it was an Army Tank and that was that. I'm really good at the sheltering bit! We were in Sheetz this month and he noticed a cigarette lighter. He asked me what it was! hehehe

I hope that you enjoyed a little peak of the West Virginia Veterans Home.
God Bless America!
