A couple of weeks ago I took a few kids from our church youth group to a Christian concert called Winter Jam. Our youth pastor at our church met us and a few others outside so we could all sit together. It was packed. When we got there the concert had already started, but the main entertainment was to come on stage later. I had no idea what this concert was going to be like at all. I am a Christian, but I don't really listen to the modern Christian music.
The concert was very LOUD! At the break I went to the concession stand and asked if I could buy some earplugs! lol I had already stuffed tissues in my ears because it was just that loud! lol Yeah, I'm a real winner! lol The teens were loving being seen with me I'm sure! hahaha
The strobe light was really nice.
The guy above was moving that fast people! I was shocked when his group came out! He was a head banger Christian group. I honestly couldn't understand a word that any of the groups were singing at all. Not one single word! lol
One group had flames shooting from things. I will have to say that I have gained a new respect for Ozzy Osborne! lol And after seeing this concert I'm not scared to tell everyone that I dated and was engaged to a Dead Head many years ago. He took me to an outdoor concert in Ohio I believe. Bruce Hornsby opened for the Greatful Dead. I will have to say both of those groups I could understand what they were singing. I had more fun with the old pot heads too, sad to say.
When they would shoot the flames up in the air we could feel the heat from the fire where we were sitting!
I'm not sure how many different groups there were that we seen. Every group had their own special effects. I did enjoy seeing the different things they would do. One of the first singers was dancing almost like Michael Jackson! I laughed so hard.
Before the main attraction started they still had the house lights up for people to find their seats. I'm a people watcher and noticed this mother who had just came from the concession stand that had 5 to 7 plates of food stacked on top of each other. Her son had his hands full too. I laughed and showed the teen guy that I brought all of the food that they had. We got a good laugh out of that. A little later someone sat beside me. I looked over and I about died laughing because it was that woman and her son! lol I had tears rolling out of my eyes I was laughing that hard! They reminded me of Harry Potter's family. The boy was sitting beside me. Every time he would raise his arm to put some food in his mouth he would hit me with his elbow! lol After he was finished eating his took up all of my arm space on the stadium seating. Sitting spread eagle his leg was touching mine. I about died. Couldn't get comfortable at all. A little later I noticed junior was asleep with his head back and mouth open! lol I about died laughing again. I mean the bands were so loud and their special effects were so loud I don't know how anyone could sleep through that! His mom tried to wake him up after awhile. He then fell on me and was trying to sleep on me! roflol I so wanted to take his picture but I didn't. You don't know how tempting that was because I really wanted to show everyone this boy. I was afraid his mother would clobber me if she seen me do it! lol Later the boy had both his shoes off and had his shoes in his hands. He was standing on that sticky floor!
After the concert we stopped off at McDonalds for some food. I don't think we made it home until 2am in the morning! I didn't have a bad time at all. It was very interesting. I'm not sure that I would ever go to another concert like that though.
