Mural ~ Ravenswood, West Virginia

We went to Ravenswood, West Virginia in November to take a look at a china cabinet that I seen that Granny Sue was selling in her antique booth there.  While we were there I seen this beautiful mural and had to take a picture of it.  It is just beautiful!

Ironton Ohio Murals

This weekend was my Little Man's 8th birthday! We were going to go to his favorite waterfall Saturday and celebrate but the heavy rains kept us from going there. We got 5 miles from the house and had to turn around because it was raining too hard to go. Then there was the threat of us being flooded out. Sunday after church we decided to take a little road trip in a different direction and came upon some beautiful murals.

First we crossed this beautiful old iron bridge that is painted sky blue.

It was a beautiful day for a little road trip.

There was a building that had murals painted on it the entire length of the building. The pictures did not load in the right order.

I love murals and try to take a picture of every one I see. I have many murals you can see HERE.

Train Depot Mural

During Spring Break I took the kids antiquing at South Charleston, West Virginia. After we went in a few stores I took a drive down the road looking for more murals. This area is full of beautiful murals that need to be seen.

The Train Depot mural is in a location where you would least expect to find it. It's at the end of the road on D Street near the Mound.

Mural ~ Hurricane, West Virginia

Just about every where you look in Hurricane, West Virginia, you will find a beautiful mural. There are 4 murals just on Main Street alone! Another one beside of the Rite Aid and let's not forget the mural that is painted on the side of the State Road's building. Another beautiful mural is located on the side of the Hurricane Fire Department's building. The one above is located beside of the BP gas station on Main Street. If you are interested in seeing other murals that I have taken pictures of and posted on my blog all you need to do is look at my labels on my sidebar. They all should be listed under the label Mural.

Rock Lake Pool ~ Mural

More murals! In this mural, the artist did a great job of recreating the look of Rock Lake Pool in South Charleston, West Virginia. I never did get to go swimming there, but I have heard that it was the place to be back in it's heyday. If you are interested in knowing more about the Rock Lake Pool, please go here. Once there, you can see some old pictures of Rock Lake Pool plus learn a little history about this famous pool.

Hurricane ~ Mural

It seems as though everywhere I go I am finding a mural! These wonderful murals are just popping up everywhere I go. I've seen them for years, but I suppose I just never thought much about them. I know I had never thought about taking pictures of them. This mural was taken from the A to Z Supermarket parking lot just off of Main Street in Hurricane, West Virginia. There are a few more that I need to get pictures of that are located in the Town of Hurricane. As soon as I can get back there, I will take some pictures and get them posted on my blog as soon as I can. Are there any great murals in the small towns where you live?

Mural ~ South Charleston

Downtown & the Mound
South Charleston, West Virginia 1960's era
I took this picture of a beautiful mural in South Charleston, West Virginia. Lately I have been surprised at all of the different murals there are in the area that I live in. Most of the murals have been around for years, but I have just recently rediscovered the beauty they add to the different towns. This particular mural can be found on D Street in South Charleston, West Virginia not far from the Mound. There are a few murals that are painted on the sides of the buildings that are in South Charleston. I will upload a few of the others that I took in the coming days. I hope you enjoy your look at this beautiful mural!
