Here are a few more pictures from our vacation this summer. We went to the National Air Space Museum when we were in Virginia. I was really surprised at how many planes were in this building. They were on the ground and hanging from the ceiling. They even had the first plane the Wright Brothers flew! It was amazing to see them all. My husband and Little Man were in their element looking around at them all.
I liked taking pictures of the ones that were unique to me. I didn't get a picture of every single plane but boy did I try!

They also had the Discovery there! I would have to say that really was my favorite of all that we seen. I have more pictures to share and will show them to you in future posts. Hopefully, I'll be a little faster about getting them up for you to see.
I really enjoyed getting to visit the Washington National Cathedral after not seeing it for so many years. There were so many different statues, carvings, stained glass windows, iron gate doors, etc... to take pictures of that I just couldn't help myself.
I think this was by far my favorite! I love how it tells the story about Jesus.
I also love how the stained glass windows tell the different stories in the Bible.
Some of the smaller worship areas like this one were roped off so you couldn't go up and get close up pictures like I would have loved to have done. I do have more pictures! I'll share them later.

The Washington National Cathedral is divided up into sections. The different sections have different styles of seating for the masses of people that attend their services. Above are some very old chairs with song books on the back.

Throughout the building there are piers that are engraved with different family dedications and the such.
I did not remember this from my visits years ago, but there are actual crypts with deceased people inside them inside the Cathedral.

Back in June on our way to the beach we stopped off for a day or two of sightseeing and shopping in the DC area. One of the stops we made was seeing the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, DC. When my husband and I were first married we had moved to Maryland and we would visit the Washington National Cathedral at least once a year in the 4 years we lived there. I really wanted our kids to see it so we made sure to go there while we were there.

There are 231 stained glass windows throughout the Washington National Cathedral. All of them are absolutely gorgeous and unique.
